My name is Beth Idle, and I’m the founder of Idle Transcriptions. My background is actually in ICU nursing, but after 7 1/2 years in the field and experiencing serious burnout, I knew I needed a change. I’ve always been detail oriented and great at adhering to deadlines, and I was the fastest typist in school. In 2018, I decided to apply these skills to the field of transcription. Switching careers is probably the nicest thing I’ve ever done for myself.
From 2018 to 2020, I worked for Rev.com doing video captioning, then moved on to taking my own transcription clients on Upwork, where I worked on thousands of projects. In 2022, I became a certified legal transcriptionist through Transcribe Anywhere. The support system through the folks at Transcribe Anywhere has been amazing in helping me step forward in my career and running my own business, something I never thought I’d do.
I’m from a small town in Southern Indiana where I live with my husband, Thomas, and 13-year-old cat, Casey. My pronouns are she/her. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, crocheting, and playing video games.
